What a poisonous combination: an advocate who became a parliamentarian. We are happy to announce today that, in accord with these dubious credentials, Peter Gastrow has proven himself to be a waster and a fool.
This blog had recently something to say about one of Gastrow's sources of easy taxpayer's cash in the form of a salary, namely the Institute of Security Studies (ISS) HERE .
In 2003, after Hazel Crane's nasty Israeli husband was assassinated by the Israeli mafia, Gastrow who has been with the ISS, drawing a fat stipend, since 1993, had the following to say to the press in connection with the incident:
"If there is one area in which the SA Police Service has the capacity and expertise to succeed, it is in the investigation of organised crime," director of the Cape Town branch of the Institute of Security Studies (ISS) said on Tuesday.
Peter Gastrow, who also heads the ISS's Organised Crime and Corruption Programme, said the SAPS's capacity in this area was "better now than it ever has been".
Four years later, here is the SAPS report card on successes with the Israeli mafia in Johannesburg:

The silence from Peter Gastrow and the ISS on the lack of progress in shutting down the Israeli mafia has been unbroken since his immortal words in 2003.
Of course, Gastrow is not a stranger to being an idiot in public. This wasp poseur said the following about the death penalty.
"Allowing people to vote for the death penalty would be a big mistake because it would open the door for other populist and emotional issues such as land distribution to be put before the nation."
Miserable little turd calls himself a democrat. The two-faced coward.
